Meaningful male friendships built on hiking, vulnerability, and growing together in the Algarve's nature.
My name is Richard, I'm 27 years old, originally from Germany and now living in Armação de Pêra, at least for the next 6 months. But I'll see from there.
The last two years I was living around different countries because of my work, but I'm really glad to have a (semi-)fixed home for now.
Generally I am joyful and just content. I love to get to know new people and I usually get along very well with everyone. The mutual respect should be given of course.
Currently I just speak English (and German of course), but I'm learning Portuguese.
So the motivation behind this is to actually find and build a social environment which is strong, emotionally available and open for activities. I just love to walk, talk about topics which may be emotional but also just casual. And I like being together and to support each other.
Through nature, honest conversations, and mutual support.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, background and orientation. What brings us together is a shared desire for depth, authenticity, and mutual growth.
Whether you're experienced or just starting out - we'll figure it out together. The point is being outside, moving, and discovering.
Let's talk about life, struggles, dreams, growth. Not just complaining, but also solutions, gratitude, and perspective. Or just walk in silence and appreciate the presence together.
Open to small group hikes when it works for everyone involved. What matters is staying intimate enough for vulnerability, authentic connection, and meaningful conversations.
Regular meetups help build deeper connection over time. But even one authentic walk together, with real conversation and presence, is meaningful on its own.
I'm not building a network or selling anything. No professional motives. This is just about finding human connection, hiking together, being vulnerable, and supporting each other.
We choose together based on time, distance, and what feels right. These are routes I'd like to see in my area, but if there's somewhere further out you want to go, I'd love to explore that with you.
Easy, meandering walk on the trails and quiet back roads inland from town. Finished with a stop at the Continente. Many variations are possible if you have an online map to follow.
This hike heads back out into the quiet inland trails before cutting across to a scenic valley which we follow back to town, finishing on the cliffs.
From the riding school, follow the road to the left. On the right through the entrance to Casa Felicidade. Along the orange trees and over the sheep bridge back to the road. Cross and open the gate of the riding school. Follow the path for a while toward the equestrian center, then bend to the left and return via paths and cart tracks to Pêra. Beautiful route.
Along the beach (at low tide) to the edge of Gale, then back along the boardwalk, circling back to town along inland trails. Depending on the tides, you may have to cross a small stream reaching the ocean.
This route explores unofficial paths in the Armação de Pêra area. The route is, in practice, a walk through the plantations and bushes of the area, along an intermittent stream. The landscape resembles the Algarve countryside, with small plantations, cork oaks, bushes, and dirt roads. The return is via Estrada do Quintão to the initial parking lot.
I'm not really an experienced hiker yet, I just love to take walks and would like to build up to it.
If this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
I'm asking you to include a photo of yourself, not to judge, but because it helps me feel more comfortable meeting someone new in person for hiking. Whether you use the form or WhatsApp, I'd really appreciate it. I've shared a picture of mine, so it feels fair to ask.
